![]() ![]() And De Niro and Pacino may be at the top of their game, but their respective teams are perfect too, with the likes of Val Kilmer, Tom Sizemore, Kevin Gage and a debuting Danny Trejo all tremendous as the robbers, and Mykelti Williamson, Last of the Mohicans' Wes Studi, Silence of the Lambs' Ted Levine, and Dennis Haybert all convincing as the detectives on their trail, and the likes of Ashley Judd and a young Natalie Portman caught in the crossfire, with great extended cameos for seasoned players like Jon Voight, Manhunter's own Tom Noonan, and William Fichtner. The story pits De Niro's seasoned armed robber against Pacino's dogged veteran detective, both consummate professionals at the top of their respective professions, and both capable of affording one another an element of respect in that regard, but nonetheless entangled with inextricably locked horns. Heat remains one of the greatest films of all time ![]()
